BLINDSIDE are back with their first full-length album in 13 years. My first impression was that they’ve made something absolutely insane, going far beyond anything I’d anticipated from the advance tracks. There are more Slayer-ish riffs, the songs have a sharper edge, and the busier drumming and stronger emphasis on percussion make this an even more densely packed record than its predecessor. They’ve taken their signature Japanese hardcore groove and pushed it to new extremes, moving between crushing drops and mosh parts with an incredible sense of dynamics and timing. The result is an evolution unlike anything else among the countless moshable hardcore bands around the world. Above all, they’ve effortlessly overcome the notorious hurdle of the second album in hardcore. An absolute masterpiece that sets your soul on fire.
